Serena Capital and IDInvest Partners invest in SantéVet

December 20, 2011 | Release

SantéVet, the leader in e-insurance for pets, is welcoming two new investors, Serena Capital and IdInvest Partners. In the course of this transaction, some shareholders including OTCAM, which had supported the company since its beginnings in 2004, sold their holdings.

Based in Lyon, SantéVet is the first insurance company in France exclusively dedicated to pets. The company offers a whole range of benefit products designed specifically for various animals. The success of these products, accessible with just a few clicks, has allowed the company to have annual double-digit growth since its founding in 2003 by Jérôme Salord. SantéVet now employs more than 50 people.

Before establishing SantéVet, Jérôme Salord had founded Mediavet, the company that offered the first on-line veterinary health care booklet. After an initial funding provided by venture capital funds, he sold the company to Avenir Telecom in 2000. Building on this experience, Jérome Salord founded SantéVet, meeting the need for specialised pet insurance.
